Examining AI in Education

Think Forward: Learning with AI is a periodic update on noteworthy news, articles, and new tools at the intersection of generative AI and K-12 education, written by CRPE director Robin Lake.

This newsletter will cover the latest work from thought leaders in the field, as well as our own research and observations.

At CRPE, we are deeply engaged in understanding and shaping the impact of AI in K–12 education. We’re asking big questions, such as…

  • How can investments and policies ensure these benefits reach the students most in need?

  • How will districts train their teachers amid other pressing priorities and increasing financial constraints?

  • How can educators learn quickly about which AI tools and strategies work best?

The Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE) is a K-12 education research center housed within the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. We research classrooms, schools, and systems to identify the systemic barriers to equity and excellence for every student and ways to overcome them. We see around the corner, reach across traditional party and sector lines, and craft solutions to problems few have anticipated. Learn more about our work at crpe.org.
